You have probably come here expecting to see some useful help about the MTSRL's new Web-based score entry tool.
Browser requirements:
To use this tool you will need a modern browser, Netscape 6.2 or 7.0, Opera 6, or IE 5.5 or 6.0 would be adequate. Older versions (4.x and earlier) of Internet Explorer and Netscape would not be suitable. Cookies and JavaScript will need to be enabled.
Entering match results:
Data validation and calculations cannot be done until you submit the data to the server. So, if you do something like update a team member list then you will need to submit (save) the match results to the server to be able to use the updated list. It would probably be a good idea to submit the data to the server after entering each shooter's scores. You could select all of the shooters on the team, submit that then enter their scores.
After entering a valid userid and password you will have to select the match for which you are entering data for. They are generated in an "Away Team at Home Team" format. Be sure that you are entering the data for the right match.
Once you have selected the match for which you wish to enter the scores you will have to enter the match data. If it is the first time the screen is presented you will be asked for the match date and the home and away teams. Enter this data and press the save button, now the shooter name fields should become select fields filled with the team member names. Select all the team members and press save again. This will cause the entry fields for any match shooters to be set up appropriately. When you are done click on the "Return" button and from the match selection page either return again or select another match to enter data for.
Changing team member lists:
As you are entering the match data you will invariably come across a new name. You will have to add the new shooter to the appropriate team member list before you can enter the shooter's score. To do this click on the "Edit Team Member Lists" link above the score entry form. This will open a separate window in which you can add members to a team or edit existing members. When you add a new member to a team (or edit an existing member) be sure to enter their email address if you know it and also check the "Match" checkbox if the shooter is shooting Match Rifle in the current year's competitions. In time I hope to be able to set up automatic notification of the team members when the scores have been entered.
I'm sure that I don't need to remind y'all to be sure that names are spelt correctly. For now it would be best to avoid spaces in first or last names so that things will format correctly.
After updating a team member list, save the current match data and the newly added names(s) should appear in the dropdowns for the appropriate team. If you change the name or spelling of a particular team member that has previously shot matches then you will need to return to the previously entered matches and re-select the updated name so that final calculations are correct.
