I don’t think we can complain too much about the weather we had - Saturday was just about ideal, and
Sunday was fine except for that one hour or so burst of thunderstorms. On only one of the relays were the
targets really soaked. We did have to delay the start of the next relay until the heavens turned off the tap - a
rarity in rifle matches, which normally proceed regardless of weather.
Unfortunately attendance was down quite a bit - perhaps because of the long weekend - but we did have
a good match and some good scores.
I have to give very sincere thanks to the Maple Leaf Marksmen club (Colin Smith in particular) for all
their work getting the range ready - and for all their work during the match. They have a great facility and it’s
one of the few we have left.
I also have to thank Steven Spinney (our CRO), Colin Smith (again) for his work on the range and in
stats, plus our Stats crew - Lois McNaught (our CSO), Clare Maitland, Wayne and Flo Morris, Charlie
Burbank, Christine Haggarty, Mark Jugley, and Shari Akow. Without workers like these the match simply
could not operate.
We were able to pass out perhaps half of the awards Sunday; I’ll be mailing out the remaining ones this
week.. Legends for the medals have been prepared and are included with the mailed results (they include the
recipient’s name and so we have no time to get them ready at the match). Please put these labels on the bottom
front of the plaques or the back of the medals we passed out Sunday.

Note that Sporting Rifle Junior Champions will be determined at the Ontario Summer Games in August.
The only record here is Bill Light’s 595x40 in Hunting Rifle - it beat Barry Nieuwenhuis’ 594x27 in
2004. In the Hunting Rifle Juniors Chris Baldwin’s 580x13 beat the record 575x17 he set last year. It should be
noted that 1147 Greg Sych fired in ISSF 3-Position is only one point off the record he set last year.
In the schedule below note the addition of a match at Peterborough run by the Durham Sharpshooters.
