HANDGUN 2003 – Ontario Provincial Handgun Championships

Crumlin Sportsmens Club in London was alive with the sharp crack of guns shots, the boom of blackpowder and the roar of jets overhead as the Handgun 2003 championships wound its way to another very successful conclusion. June 28-30 were the dates this year and, for the second year in a row, the excellent facilities at the Crumlin Sportsmens Club were utilized for one of the largest bullseye pistol competitions in the country.

This match has been a tradition in Ontario starting with the original Ontario Revolver Association over 40 year ago and has grown in size and reputation. There is something for everyone from all the ISSF pistol matches to the challenging NRA 2700, black powder and the every popular Saturday Night Special Match.

The banquet on Saturday night was superb (thanks to Shelley Sherman and her crew) and the Legal Fund Auction provided another $1,500.00 + for the cause. Many thanks to all those who donated items and spent their hard earned money. Special thanks goes to Gobles Gun and Tackle in London for their generous donation.

An endeavor of this size and complexity cannot be run without the hard work of many volunteers. Our hats are off to all of you. The continued success of this match is a direct result of your dedication and efforts. Many thanks also go to John Fitzgerald, Helen Smith and their overworked crew at the Crumlin Sportsmens Club.
