A few comments on the 2003 Winter Games resultsThe matches went very smoothly with no serious glitches. The scoring crew did an excellent job. The top ten sets of targets in the Individual match and the top five teams were rescored by the jury before the results were posted - they changed only a handful of the 4000 targets rescored. During the first three days of competition we had no challenges in the stats office. This is almost unheard of. We did get nine the last day, with the shooters winning two. Not a bad record.
Interesting team results: In the Men’s Air Pistol Team event Steven Cacka unfortunately injured his back and was unable to complete the course. The way he and Roland Rondeau were shooting this cost Alberta a Gold medal. Too bad. In the Ladies Air Rifle Team event 3rd through 6th place were separated by 2 points - this was largely responsible for the number of challenges the last day. In the results new record scores are marked with **. Click [here] to view the results in PDF format. |
