The Fall Match was fired at the Barriefield Range, Kingston, on 4-5 October, 2008. 28 shooters took part, which is a high for recent years. There were 7 in the F(M) Class reflecting the growth in this discipline, spurred perhaps, by the availability of relatively inexpensive but good shooting factory rifles.

The weather was cool, but dry, on both days, partially sunny. The wind was fairly light, but variable, with interesting switches of direction. It all made for an enjoyable weekend's shooting. Barriefield remains one of the most pleasant of the ranges used by the ORA - very well looked after and difficult enough to make it a good challenge.

Des Vamplew won the TR Aggregate, three convincing points ahead of Scott Murray. Leo D'Amour, making a welcome return after illness this summer, won the F Class, 8 points ahead of Norm Barber.

The ORA expresses its gratitude to Dave Steed who has looked after the shooting at Kingston for several years, often under trying circumstances. Dave is now leaving the Kingston area, so we offer our thanks for all he has done.
