Here are some pictures from the Precision Rifle Clinic held 12-13 June 2004 at CFB Borden.
The program included:
- Basic marksmanship with grouping and zeroing practice at 100 yards;
- Centering the group with practice at 300 yards;
- Moving targets practice at 400 yards;
- Elevations practice at 500 and 600 yards;
- Reading the wind practice at 800 yards.
There were over two dozen people in attendance, and they made an impressive looking firing line:
and an impressive array of equipment:
Discussions on marksmanship, the role of the spotter and wind-reading were very popular:
Here, Lynn and Ed demonstrate their very effective pairs set-up:
This spotter is using some very nice binos with a special "stabilizing" feature that helps take the shake out of the user's hold:
Here's another pairs set-up... and yes, the targets are quite far away and quite small:
Here's a well-organized shooter with his charts:
And another shooter enjoying the day:
The Clinic was organized by Tim Kagetsu and conducted by Keith Cunningham and Linda Miller from MilCun Marksmanship Complex.
Organizers are already talking about expanding thse program for next year and running the training over two weekends, finishing with a complete match on the last day. If you have any thoughts or ideas on this, please let the ORA know.
Pictures & text thanks to Linda Miller
