2000 Cedar Springs June Match Report

by Jim Thompson

It was an enjoyable weekend, with about 25 entries. Weather was fine on Saturday, but rain first thing on Sunday; winds variable, moderate breeze off the lake.

The military did not allow shooting at 900 metres, for reasons that I won't go into. Hence, there was more shooting at 300 and 600 yards to make up. A lack of 500 yard centres meant that the 600 yard target was used at that range, but with the V (6.5 inches) counting as 5 and the 5 counting as 4. That made it quite a challenge! Aggregate scores were a bit lower as a result. Pete Church shot exceptionally well to gain the highest score of any class.

The F Classers have little excuse, except for a lack of practice and carelessness (both fully applied in my case!).

As usual the shoot was well run and fun. It is hoped that the current problems can be sorted out in time for the Fall shoot over the Labour Day weekend.

Cheers

Jim
